Vienišas verslininkas jau aštuonerius metus gyvena kažkurio Šveicarijos miesto viešbutyje. Jis visada nepriekaištingai apsirengęs, vairuoja prabangų BMW ir rūko brangius cigarus. Vyras nuolat kažkur neša lagaminėlį, pilną pinigų, tačiau niekas nežino, kuo jis užsiima. Atrodo, kad jis neturi jokių jausmų ir yra abejingas aplinkiniams. Tačiau vieną dieną verslininkas netikėtai sulaužo savo taisykles ir užkalbina viešbučio barmenę Sofiją. Šis iš pirmo žvilgsnio nereikšmingas įvykis apverčia jo gyvenimą aukštyn kojomis – į jo pasaulį sugrįžta jausmai, meilė, mafija bei mirtis.
