Tai itin paslaptinga ir bauginanti istorija, kurioje visi veikėjai kai ką slepia. Ji prasideda nuo vieno itin kraupaus nutikimo prieš daugiau nei dešimt metų. Šiukšlių konteineryje netoli mečetės aptinkamas jaunos merginos lavonas. Į įvykio vietą atvykusi FTB tyrėjų komanda lieka priblokšta: konteineryje guli vienos iš komandos darbuotojų – Džesės (pribloškiantis J. Roberts vaidmuo) – dukra. Ar ši kraupi ir nepaaiškinama žmogžudystė kaip nors susijusi su terorizmo grėsme? Iš kur žudikas pažinojo Džesės dukrą? Rėjus (Ch. Ejioforas) pasiryžęs trūks plyš žudiką surasti ir patupdyti už grotų, bet gerų norų toli gražu nepakanka. Vis labiau gilindamasis į įvykio aplinkybes Rėjus supranta įsivėlęs į žymiai sudėtingesnį ir pavojingesnį žaidimą, kuriame vieno žmogaus mirtis nėra itin svarbi, nes galbūt ant kortos pastatytos daugelio gyvybės. Negelbsti ir naujosios kolegės Kler (N. Kidman) parama – galiausiai tyrėjai priversti paleisti į laisvę įtariamąjį ir jis netrukus dingsta iš akiračio.
