Antrojo pasaulinio karo metai. Iš afroamerikiečių sudarytas oro batalionas mokymų Alabamoje metu nuolat kenčia pašaipas ir rasizmo išpuolius. Kai 1944 metais oro karas virš Europos papasiekia beveik mirtiną fazę, 332d kovotojų grupė gauna progą įrodyti, ko ji verta.
