1944 metų vasara, Europoje dar siaučia Antrasis pasaulinis karas. Žydaitė dainininkė Reičel slapstosi Olandijos kaime. Kai subombarduoja jos slėptuvę, ji su grupele žydų bando barža pabėgti iš okupuotos teritorijos, tačiau jų laivas kaktomuša susiduria su nacių patruliu ir visi keleiviai žiauriai išžudomi. Dabar moters gyvybei gresia dvigubas pavojus, nes pasipriešinimo bendražygiai kaltina ją išdavyste.
