Iš pradžių šis filmas gali pasirodyti labai panašus į įprastą veiksmo trilerį, kuriame tik „šaudo ir gaudo“. Patikėkite, taip nėra. Jis prasideda kvapą gniaužiančia gaudynių scena, kurioje policininką Maksą Levinskį (akt. Jamesas McAvoy) sužeidžia, tačiau kažkodėl nenužudo paslaptingos nusikalstamos grupuotės vadeiva Džeikobas Sternvudas (akt. Markas Strongas).
