Perkūno planetos gyventojai evakuojasi prieš pat jos sunaikinimą. Juos persekiojo mutantų grupė. Visi, išskyrus vieną, jų pabėgimo laivai buvo sunaikinti. Liko tik nedidelė Perkūno (Perkūno kačių) grupė. Turėdama tik pusę variklio galios, grupė, kuriai vadovavo Jaga, turėjo nustatyti kursą į artimiausią planetą. Jaga vadovavo jų laivui, o kiti septyni buvo sąstingio vamzdeliuose. Jaga mirė kelionėje į Trečiąją Žemę ir ten sudužo jų laivas. Netrukus jie susidraugavo su įvairiomis apylinkių grupėmis ir suprojektavo tvirtovę. Mumm-Ra, šimtmečių senumo blogio įsikūnijimas, kartu su mutantais, kurie sunaikino likusius Thunderans, yra nuolatinė grėsmė. Tačiau Lion-O, naujasis "Thundercats" lyderis, su savo ginklu "Sword of Omens" padės "Thundercats" turėti nuolatinį šansą.
