Vartų adresui surinkti seniau buvo naudojami vos 7 simboliai, tačiau vietos jiems užrakinti yra 9-ios. 8-asis simbolis naudojamas patekti į kitą galaktiką. Kur veda devintasis - niekas nežino. Jam įjungti būtinas tikslus energijos kiekis ir kodas. Kad įmintų devintojo ševrono mįslę mokslininkai ją įdeda į kompiuterinį žaidimą. Na ir vienas kompiuterinių žaidimų asas iš Amerikos išsprendžia šią mįslę. Neilgai trukus jis atsiduria SG bazėje, o iš jos nukeliauja į planetą, kurioje bandoma užrakinti 9-ąjį ševroną. Neilgai trukus užpuola bazę ir tenka greitai evakuotis. Daktaras Rush'as nusprendžia, kad geriau nerinkt žemės adreso, o varyt tiesiai į nežinią už devintojo ševrono…
