CRUTCH, een autobiografische film gebaseerd op de ervaringen van schrijver-regisseur Rob Moretti, is een coming-of-age-verhaal over de worsteling van een jonge man met familieproblemen en middelenmisbruik. Achter een façade van perfectie van de middenklasse in de voorsteden, valt Davids gezinsleven uit elkaar. Terwijl hij probeert om te gaan met de onmogelijke situatie, raakt de getroebleerde en beïnvloedbare tiener in de ban van Kenny, een prachtige , dertiger, acteur die theatercoach is geworden. Wanneer Kenny's 'steun' escaleert in verleiding, daalt David langzaam af in een afgrond van drank- en drugsverslaving waaruit hij moet ontsnappen als hij wil overleven. CRUTCH is een dramatisch verhaal over de verwarring van de jeugd en de moeilijkheden om zichzelf te vinden.
