Tripper er lederen for rådgiverne på en budsjett‑sommerleir kalt Camp Northstar. Han er i realiteten ung i hjertet og bare litt mer moden enn leirens egne barn. Tripper blir venn med Rudy, en ensom leirboer som har vanskeligheter med å passe inn. Når Tripper inspirerer de unge underordnede til å slå rival Camp Mohawk i den årlige olympiaden, fungerer Rudy som matchmaker mellom Tripper og Roxanne, en kvinnelig rådgiver på Northstar.
