Mens Andrea Gail har stor fiskelykke på Flemish Cap, begynner et uvær å bygge seg opp i Atlanterhavet. Tre stormfronter er i ferd med å møtes. Sammen vil de skape den verste stormen i moderne tid. Billy og mannskapet vil ikke la fangsten råtne mens uværet herjer. De bestemmer seg for å trosse naturkreftene og komme hjem i tide.
