Den nå 18 år gamle Tommy Jarvis har fortsatt mareritt om massemorderen Jason. For å hjelpe ham med å overvinne de forferdelige minnene, blir han innlagt på et mentalsykehus. Der møter han Joey, Robin, Violet og Jake som også er pasienter.
