Snipp og Snapp, to jordekorn med en nese for trøbbel, starter et detektivfirma, Redningspatruljen, sammen med deres nye venner Fiksi, Monty og Zum Zum. De små detektivene gjør oppdrag mange ganger for små for politiet, med som regel dyr som deres klienter. De finner seg mange ganger i konfrontasjon med de samme fiendene Mr. Katz og den gale vitenskapsmannen Noron Nimnul.
