Frank (James Caan) jest złodziejem kamieni szlachetnych. Jego kłopoty zaczynają się, gdy paser, któremu zawsze upłynniał towar, ginie, nie płacąc za ostatni łup. Złodziej postanawia odzyskać pieniądze. Dociera do szefa miejscowej mafii, który obiecuje mu zwrot pieniędzy pod warunkiem, że ten wykona dla niego jeden skok, za który ma otrzymać milion dolarów.
