Trzydzieści lat temu Andrei Filipov był cudownym dzieckiem teatru Bolszoj. Jako dyrygent kierował orkiestrą największego teatru Rosji. Stracił stanowisko z powodów politycznych. Obecnie, jako zwykły człowiek, sprząta w swoim dawnym teatrze. Pewnego dnia, przypadkiem dowiaduje się, że paryski teatr Châtelet zaprasza orkiestrę Bolszoj na uroczysty koncert. Postanawia zebrać swoich byłych muzyków i udać się do Francji w miejsce prawdziwego zespołu. Ma na to dwa tygodnie.
