Uma comédia ambientada no espaço, contando a rotina da nave Red Dwarf. Dave Lister (Craig Charles) é o último ser humano vivo na galáxia, depois de todo o resto da tripulação da nave ter sido morta quando ele estava em suspensão animada. Três milhões de anos depois, ele é revivido pelo senil computador de bordo, Holly (Norman Lovett), acompanhado pelo holograma do já falecido Arnold Rimmer (Chris Barrie) , Cat (Danny John-Jules) além do robô Kryten (Robert Llewellyn).
