Em um futuro próximo a humanidade foi parcialmente dizimada pela queda da nave espacial Orphan, que causou inúmeras inundações pelo planeta. Várias partes desse artefato se espalharam pelo globo causando mais destruição, e logo os homens se dividiram entre os que queriam compreender essa tecnologia pra usá-la como arma, e os que queriam destruí-la. Militares e cientistas criam um exercito chamado Reclaimer, que busca recuperar todas as partes do artefato alienígena e torná-lo funcional para utilizá-lo em viagens espaciais.
