Ramon a fost culcat de aproape treizeci de ani în grija familiei sale. Singura lui fereastră către lume este cea din camera lui, lângă marea în care a călătorit atât de mult și unde a suferit accidentul care i-a întrerupt tinerețea. De atunci, singura sa dorință este să-și încheie viața cu demnitate. Sosirea a două femei îi va schimba lumea: Julia, avocata care vrea să-și susțină lupta și Rosa, o vecină a orașului care va încerca să-l convingă că viața merită trăită. Personalitatea luminoasă a lui Ramón sfârșește prin a-i captiva pe amândoi, care vor trebui să se pună la îndoială ca niciodată înainte de principiile care le guvernează viața. Știe că numai persoana care îl iubește cu adevărat va fi cea care îl va ajuta să facă acea călătorie finală.
