Tom Connors este condamnat la Sing Sing, dar crede ca prietenii lui influenți il vor scoate în curând de acolo. Este insa condamnat la nouăzeci de zile fara posibilitatea eliberarii conditionate. Fay, prietena lui sufera un accident, iar gardianul ii permite lui Tom sa o viziteze. În timpul unei lupte cu mafiotul Joe Finn, Fay il impusca pe Finn, iar Tom este acuzat pentru moartea lui. Desi se preda, Tom este condamnat la moarte.
