Când un pastor neapreciat moare după ce a fost înlocuit, fiica sa, Florence Fallon (Barbara Stanwyck), își pierde credința în Dumnezeu. Găsind o șansă de a câștiga puțini bani, oportunistul Bob Hornsby (Sam Hardy) o convinge să-și înființeze propria biserică.
