Pirații Pălăriei de Paie au debarcat pe Insula Asuka, casa celei mai valoroase sabii din lume: Sabia celor Șapte Stele. Se spunea că blestemă pe oricine o ia în posesie. Când s-au întors la Going Merry, au descoperit că Zoro lipsea de la serviciul său de pază. Înainte să poată planifica o echipă de căutare pentru a-l reloca. Luffy și prietenii săi scapă din port în timp ce pușcașii marini îi urmăreau. Au găsit un nou loc de andocare, aproape de un sat. A cărui sarcină este să păstreze Sabia de Șapte Stele sigilată. Curând a fost atacată de pușcași marini, printre care se află Zoro. Luffy și ceilalți nu știu de ce ajută marinarii. Dar totul ajunge la concluzie când Luffy îl întâlnește pe Saga: prietenul din copilărie al lui Zoro din antrenamentul de spadasin.
