Enoch este un adolescent care își dorește moartea, care vizitează în mod regulat funeraliile străinilor. Prietenul lui este fantoma unui pilot kamikaze japonez din al Doilea Război Mondial. El este singurul cu care poate vorbi despre Dumnezeu și despre lume până o întâlnește pe frumoasa Annabelle. Ea îl protejează de preot la înmormântarea unuia dintre prietenii ei când vrea să-l alunge pe Enoch din cimitir odată pentru totdeauna.
