Manuel este un important funcționar al guvernului regional care are tot ce trebuie ca să-și încerce norocul în politica națională, dar își vede viața perfectă distrusă după apariția unui scandal de corupție în care el este implicat alături de Paco, unul dintre cei mai buni prieteni ai săi din partid. În timp ce jurnaliștii încep să facă reportaje despre scandal, membrii partidului analizează situația și doar Paco iese nevătămat. Peste noapte, Manuel este dat afară din regat și e trădat de cei pe care îi considera prietenii lui. Dar, deși partidul vrea ca el să poarte toată vina, Manuel nu va accepta să cadă singur. Cu sprijinul soției și fiicei, captiv într-o luptă pentru supraviețuire, Manuel va trebui să se confrunte cu mașinăria corupției și cu un sistem în care regii cad, dar regatele rezistă.
