Filmul este inspirat de povestea incredibilă a unui câine ciobănesc pe nume Palma, care a fost lăsat din greșeală în aeroport de către stăpânul său. Ea se împrietenește cu Nicholas, în vârstă de nouă ani, a cărui mamă moare, lăsându-l cu un tată pe care abia îl cunoaște - un pilot care găsește câinele la aeroport.
