Frank Castle este un agent secret al Biroului Federal de Investigații (FBI) care are o carieră de anvergură. Frank este și un fost operator al Forțelor Speciale. El lasă în sfârșit câmpul de luptă să lucreze într-un birou, pentru a putea avea o viață normală cu soția și fiul său. Va fi atunci când lumea lui Frank se va destrăma pentru cele mai grave temeri pe care le-a avut vreodată: familia lui este executată ca repercusiune a ultimei sale slujbe.
