Veteran american și fost agent NATO, colonelul Benjamin Ford s-a refugiat într-o cabană undeva în Munții Apalași pentru a uita experiențele dureroase trăite în războiul bosniac. Fostul soldat sârb Emil Kovac, vrând să se răzbune pe Ford pentru acțiunile sale din timpul războiului, intră în țară ca turist european care vizitează statul Tennessee. Când i se ivește oportunitatea de a-i repara Land Rover-ul lui Ford, el nu stă pe gânduri și cei doi devin apropiați, până când, în timpul unei partide de vânătoare, Kovac își dezvăluie adevărata identitate.
