Walter Davis (Bruce Willis) decide să o invite pe frumoasa Nadia Gates (Kim Basinger) la o cină de afaceri. El speră ca partenerii lui de afaceri, impresionați de frumusețea Nadiei, să rămână fără glas. Asta se și întâmplă. Dar Nadia bea mai mult decât poate duce și, din acel moment, totul o ia razna, iar infernul pune stăpânire pe tot ceea ce urmează să se întâmple. Când părea că nimic nu poate fi mai rău de atât, în peisaj își face intrarea David (John Larroquette), fostul iubit al Nadiei, iar gelozia o înnebunește pe femeie. Oare mai există măcar o șansă ca, după această întâlnire dezastruoasă, să se înfiripe ceva între Walter și Nadia?
