Primul război cu Cylonii a făcut ravagii timp de 10 ani și un tânăr Sublocotenent William Adama se alătură flotei. El este dezamăgit că nu a fost repartizat unei escadrile de nave de vânătoare, ci pe o fregată. Copilotul său, Lt.
