Într-un viitor distopic, în anul 2077, guvernele au căzut și marile corporații au preluat controlul. Folosind o forță de securitate numită "Serviciul de protecție", acestea restrâng sistematic drepturile populației.
Grupul terorist Liber8 luptă împotriva regimului, distrugând și ucigând mii de oameni zilnic. Liderii au fost în cele din urmă capturați. În ziua în care aceștia sunt trimiși spre a fi executați, Liber8 reușește să le trimită în închisoare o mașină a timpului care îi trimite înapoi în 2012.
