Scott Calvin, ktorý sa stal Santa Clausom, a jeho manželka Carol, čakajú svoje prvé dieťa. Bohužiaľ práve vo chvíli, keď sa blíži Štedrý deň. Carol ale chýba rodina, takže Scott sa rozhodne pozvať jej rodičov na Severný pól. Problém je, že oni netušia, kto je, a myslia si, že je výrobca hračiek v Kanade. Pred Radu Severného pólu je pozvaný Jack Frost, ktorý žiarli na Santu, a je obvinený z toho, že sa ho snaží zatieniť. Matka príroda navrhuje sankcie. Lenže Jack je veľmi výrečný človek a snaží sa svoje rozhodnutia obhájiť, čo sa mu celkom aj darí. Ako trest dostane len verejne prospešné práce. Pod vedením elfov by mal pracovať na premene Severného pólu na Kanadskú provinciu - a to len kvôli rodičom pani Clausovej. Jack Frost má ale iný ciel. Chce prinútiť Santu, nech sa vzdá svojho postavenia...
