Svetoznámy pretekár a bývalé práškovacie lietadlo Dusty si užíva slávy, pohodu medzi priateľmi a pripravuje sa na ďalšie preteky. Jedného dňa však príde rana - v dôsledku vážneho poškodenia motora už možno nikdy nebude môcť letieť na plný výkon a nebude nikdy pretekať. Pokúša sa vyrovnať so situáciou a hľadá novú motiváciu. Preto sa rozhodne prijať ponuku práce hasiaceho lietadla. V národnom parku bude zodpovedný za hasenie lesných požiarov.
