Dráma podľa skutočného príbehu ľudí, ktorí po páde lietadle boli vystavení nepredstaviteľným skúškam, ak chceli prežiť... V piatok 13. októbra 1972 došlo v Andách k nehode lietadla, na palube ktorého sa nachádzali členovia amatérskeho rugbyového tímu, ich rodinní príslušníci a priatelia. Mnohí z nich zahynuli hneď pri nehode, viacerým sa však podarilo prežiť, ostali však uväznení vysoko v nehostinných horách. O niekoľko dní sa z rádia dozvedeli, že pátranie po nich bolo zrušené, nik totiž neveril, že by mohli ešte byť medzi živými...
