Nadšene prijatá šesťdielna britská miniséria rozpráva pozoruhodný príbeh o tom, ako povstalci britskej armády vytvorili v severoafrickej púšti počas najtemnejších dní druhej svetovej vojny najelitnejšiu špeciálnu jednotku na svete. V úvodnej epizóde sú David Stirling (Connor Swindells) a Jock Lewes (Alfie Allen) frustrovaní z vedenia armády a priebehu vojny v severnej Afrike, a tak vymyslia plán, ako vysadiť mužov v púšti a zaútočiť na nepriateľské jednotky zo zázemia... Scenár napísal mimoriadne úspešný Steven Knight, ktorý napísal aj Východné prísľuby, ako aj Peaky Blinders: Gangy z Birminghamu, Tabu a životopisnú drámu Spencer.
