Travis se javi na oglas, v katerem iščejo prostovoljce za raziskavo vedenja, obljubljajo pa tisoč dolarjev na dan. Skupaj s 25 prostovoljci ga odpeljejo v zapor, kjer bodo dva tedna živeli brez vsakega stika z zunanjim svetom. Razdelijo jih na jetnike in paznike, razložijo pravila in igra se lahko začne. Kaj kmalu se pojavi vprašanje, kdaj bo samooklicani vodja paznikov, v resnici reva, ki se na smrt boji svoje matere, okusil slast na novo pridobljene moči in jo zlorabil. Kdaj bodo spolnemu obsedencu, sicer striktnemu heteroseksualcu popustile zavore in bo moral potešiti svojo slo? In kdaj bo mirnemu pacifistu prekipelo zaradi krivic in živalskega obnašanja paznikov?
