V odmaknjenem islandskem mestecu začne policijski načelnik (Ingvar Sigurdsson) sumiti nekega sokrajana, da je bil skrivni ljubimec njegove žene, ki je pred dvema letoma umrla v tragični avtomobilski nesreči.
