Po smrti svojih staršev morata 7-letna Maddie in najstnik Milo zaživeti pri svoji teti Jules. Nekega dne se na pragu njenega doma prikaže neznanec, ki trdi, da je butler Sira Edwarda, Maddiejinega in Milovega premožnega dedka, ki vse tri povabi, da božične praznike preživijo na Edwardovem razkošnem domu.
