Po vodenju misije za odstranitev terorističnega voditelja šejka Ibrahima bin-Khalida se Eric Carter ( Corey Hawkins ), nekdanji narednik Ranger vojske Združenih držav , vrne v ZDA in ugotovi, da njega in njegove sodelavce iz ekipe lovijo in ubijajo, ker eden iz njegove ekipe je nehote ukradel usb pogon, ki je vseboval seznam terorističnih spalnih celic s sedežem v ZDA in kode za njihovo aktiviranje za prihodnje napade. Ker se nima kam obrniti, Carter prosi CTU, naj mu pomaga rešiti življenje, hkrati pa zaustaviti vrsto uničujočih terorističnih napadov spečih celic na ameriških tleh. Serija se odvija tri leta po dogodkih v 24: Live Another Day in je postavljena v Washington.
