Po navdihu resničnega projekta Modra knjiga je dogajanje v tej razburljivi seriji postavljeno v čas hladne vojne in začetke razvoja atomske dobe, govori pa o preiskovanju NLP-jev s strani Vojnega letalstva Združenih držav Amerike. Izvrsten astrofizik dr. J. Allen Hynek sodeluje pri tajnem vladnem programu skupaj s stotnikom Michaelom Quinnom. V prizadevanjih, da bi odkril resnico glede serij skrivnostnih videnj, bo dr. Hynek postopoma prišel do spoznanja, da je ujet sredi daljnosežnega in nevarnega primera prikrivanja resnice, ki bo pahnila njega in njemu najbližje v veliko nevarnost.
