Nakon što otac odbije da mu povisi džeparac, maloletni mladić proda svoj sat prijatelju koji mu, umesto novca, ponudi kfalsifikovanu novčanicu od 500 franaka. Pomisao da bi za nju, ako je prevarom nekome uvale, mogli da dobiju dosta novca, obojica odluče da "usitne" novčanicu u obližnjoj prodavnici.
