Kada vlada otvori teritoriju Oklahome za naseljavanje, nemirni Iancei Cravat tvrdi da je parcela slobodne zemlje za sebe i preseli svoju porodicu tamo iz Vichita. Novinar, advokat i skoro sve ostalo, Cravat uskoro postaje vodeći građanin grada Osagea.
