На Менхетну смртоносна болест коју преносе бубашвабе односи много дечијих живота па група научника после кратких истраживања проналази решење у виду нове расе џиновских инсеката, названих симболично Џудас Брид, који ће негативно утицати на размножавање заражених бубашваба. Генетски инжињеринг, играње са природом и изигравање Бога као и обично у оваквим филмовима има много теже последице него узрок због којег је решење и тражено. Тако и овог пута, након свих похвала и славе коју су (не)заслужено покупили, три године касније ентомолошкиња и њен супруг живе срећно и планирају проширивање породице, ни не сањајући да се по напуштеним тунелима старог метроа управо размножава нова раса, много отпорнија и прилагођенија својим ловцима, тј. људима. Да је само то – не би било ништа страшно, него је нова раса величине човека, уз помоћ крила може да лети изузетно брзо, а може и да понесе људску жртву и одлети са њом у своју јазбину.
