Продуцент Макс Барбер дугује новац шефу мафије Реџију Фонтејну након што његов најновији филм доживи фијаско. Са својим животом на коцки, Макс продуцира нови филм, не би ли притом убио главног глумца при извођењу неке од вратоломија а потом узео новац од осигурања. Али када Макс изабере Ђука Монтану, он не очекује да ће стари пијанац процветати јер се нашао опет испред камере. Не могавши да убије Ђука у обичној филмској вратоломији, Макс га ставља у све опасније ситуације.
