Харлем, Њујорк, 1932. Ситног криминалца Реја и банковног чиновника Клода, потреба за новцем натерала је у партнерство. Како би подмирили дуг гангстеру, морају му доставити пошиљку алкохола из Мисисипија. Но тамо их задеси друкчија судбина.
