У овом наставку филма "Ноћ живих мртваца", радња се одвија неколико недеља после догађаја у првом делу. Ситуација се погоршала, па два репортера, удружена са два члана SWAT тима, одлучују да украду хеликоптер и пронађу место где се могу сакрити од крволочних зомбија. Они проналазе забачени тржни центар и одлучују да се ту зауставе и преноће. Они одлучују и да остану у тржном центру па се забарикадирају у малој соби док периодично одлазе у тржни центар преплављен зомбијима како би узели шта им треба. Све време боре се са зомбијима а касније и са бандом бајкера која жели тржни центар за себе.
