Тони Д’Амато, тренер клуба америчког фудбала Мајами Шаркс, пре четири године освојио је две везане шампионске титуле. Сада од млађих играча покушава да створи нов шампионски тим, али нова власница клуба Кристина Пањаћи, не показује много стрпљења, нити поштовања према његовим ранијим резултатима. Њен једини циљ је профит и до њега жели да дође одмах и по сваку цену. Не интересују је квалитетни играчи, који доприносе тимској игри, већ само они, који могу да постану звезде. Зато одбија да продужи уговор са капитеном клуба и некада најбољим играчем Кепом Рунијем и форсира младог квотербека Вилија Бимана. Вили је добар и талентован играч,али му слава и новац много више значе од резултата клуба. Тренер Д’Амато зато мора да пронађе баланс између захтева нове власнице и онога што сматра да је најбоље за Мајами Шарксе.
