Nutida Moskva. Konflikten och balansen mellan ljusets och mörkrets krafter är resultatet av en medeltida fred mellan de motsatta sidorna. Men jämvikten är för alltid rubbad nu, och kriget är ett faktum. Anton fortsätter att slåss mot mörkrets krafter. Genom att få tag på en magisk krita försöker han att rädda Moskva från förintelse och samtidigt rädda sin son. Han stöter på problem när han anklagas för mordet på vampyrer från den mörka sidan.
