Detta är berättelsen om Gus och Woodrow. Två före detta Texas Rangers som länge delat både hjältemod och svårmod, men ändå är så olika varandra. Gus är den romatiska med ett gott öga till vackra damer. Woodrow äger inte samma känslosamhet, men däremot en stor dröm.
Att bygga ett nytt liv västerut.
Sporrade av hans plan beger sig en grupp av från södern med en boskapshjord mot Montanas bördiga mark. Framför sig har de en 150 mil lång väg kantad av sandstormar, snöoväder, banditer och överfall.
