Robert Durst, ättling i en av New Yorks miljardärsfastighetsfamiljer, har anklagats för tre mord men aldrig blivit dömd. Briljant, tillbakadragen och föremål för obeveklig mediagranskning, har han aldrig talat offentligt - tills nu. Under intervjuer med Andrew Jarecki avslöjar han hemligheter i fallet som förvirrat myndigheterna i 30 år. År 2010 gjorde Jarecki dokumentärfilmen "All Good Things" baserat på Robert Dursts ökända berättelse. Efter att Durst såg filmen kontaktade han Jarecki och ville berätta sin historia. Vad som började som en dokumentärfilm blev i slutändan en sexdelad serie, eftersom mer och mer av hans otroliga historia avslöjades.
