เรื่องราวของนักสืบมือดีอย่าง ทอม แบรนท์ ที่เมื่อวันดีคืนดีเขากลับต้องมาเจอกับคดีที่ไม่คาดฝันนั้นคือการมาของ นายตัวร้ายโรคจิต ที่ใช้ชื่อฆาตกรว่า ‘เดอะ บลิทซ์’ ที่ได้มีเป้าหมายหลักๆนั้นคือ การล้างโคตรตำรวจทั้ง 8 คนที่ทำให้เขาเคยโดนเข้าคุก เข้าตาราง ในอดีต โดยมีวิธีการฆ่าที่สุดจะโหดเหี้ยม จึงทำให้เฮียเถิก เบรนท์ ต้องผนึกกำลังกับ หัวหน้าตำรวจ คนใหม่ที่มีแววว่าจะเป็น แต๋ว อย่าง พอตเตอร์ แนช เพื่อจับตัวฆาตกรอย่าง เดอะ บลิทซ์ มาให้ได้ก่อนที่เขานั้นจะมาตามตัวถึงเป้าหมายที่สำคัญของเขา ที่นั้นก็คือ แบรนท์ นั้นเอง
