Halla, işini seven bir koro şefidir. Genç kadın aynı zamanda İzlanda’nın tabiatını, sanayi yıkımından kurtarmaya çalışan bir aktivisttir. Politikacılar tarafından yönlendirilen sanayiciler, İzlanda arazileri için büyük bir tehdit oluşturur. Yaşananlar karşısında genç kadın, İzlanda topraklarını korumak için alüminyum endüstrisine karşı savaş ilan eder. Sanayicilere karşı giriştiği bu zorlu mücadelede kısa sürede alüminyum endüstrisinin belası haline gelir. “Dağların Kadını” olarak anılmaya başlayan Halla, fabrikaların çalışmasını engellemek için her şeyi göze alır. Tam da bu dönemde aldığı bir haber tüm hayatını değiştirir. Hanna, uzun süredir evlat edinmek için mücadele vermiştir ve sonunda beklediği yanıt gelir. Bir kız çocuğu evlat edinmeye hak kazanan Halla, hayalleri arasına seçim yapmak zorunda kalacaktır.
