"Who Rides with Wyatt?" romanından uyarlanan bu hikayenin senaryosu, emektar western yönetmeni Burt Kennedy tarafından yazıldı ve Who Rides with Kane? adıyla da piyasaya sürüldü. Jenerik şarkısını söyleyen Robert Mitchum, oğlunu öldüren Frank Boone (John Anderson) adlı adamın peşine düşen eski şerif Ben Kane rolünde. Bu arayışta, kiralık katil Billy Young'ın da (Robert Walker) yardımını alır. Billy, birlikte Meksikalı bir generali öldürdükten sonra kayıplara karışan ortağı Jesse Boone (David Carradine) tarafından yarı yolda bırakılmıştır. Kane, Lordsburg'un federal şerifi olur ve dansçı kız Lily Beloit'e (Angie Dickinson) gönlünü kaptırır.
